Description
Jugend (youth) was a German art and humour journal first published in 1896. It employed some of the best graphic artists and illustrators and led to the creation of the style Jugendstil (youth style), German’s equivalent of art nouveau. This cover design by Hans Christiansen is one of the best cover designs of this journal. This a rare design taken from the original and has never appeared in poster form until now.

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?
Many poster manufacturers use public domain ‘high- resolution’ images from the web. Often these images are poor scans or photos of the original without consideration for colour matching. In many cases, the images are not high resolution but resampled in imaging software to create a large pixel image. The result is a poor reproduction lacking important colour and detail.
We scan from the original.
Our prints are created from the ORIGINAL SOURCE and professionally scanned at 600 dpi so the image can be enlarged without loss of detail. The scan is then colour corrected in order to perfectly match the vibrancy of the original. Any tears, creases, stains from the original scans have been painstakingly removed, whilst still maintaining that vintage look.
