Carl Otto Czeschka (1878-1960) attended the Akademie der bildenden Künst in Vienna (1894-99). He was a member of the Vienna Secession in 1900 and joined the Wiener Werkstätte in 1905 where he created his most famous illustrated book Die Nibelungen (1909). He taught at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna (1902-07) and at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Hamburg (1907).
